What does it mean to heal?
Healing unfolds when we live fully in the present, unencumbered by the burdens we've carried from our past. We are constantly being shaped by our life stories. Our experiences teach us how to survive, gather resources and mold us into who we are right now. Our bodies harbor physical, emotional, and behavioral patterns, crafted by our genetics, memories, values, beliefs, culture, past injuries, and everyday habits.
As I listen to stories of suffering and lay my hands on someone, it's as if these historical patterns illuminate within their tissues, revealing themselves like a constellation in the night sky.
The journey toward healing begins with recognizing these burdensome patterns in a nurturing and safe environment. By delicately peeling back these layers, we can tap into a deeper and more embodied aspect of your being, one that radiates wisdom and is wholly immersed in the present moment.

Our Approach, Together.
There are three parts to the healing work I do with you.
First, I do a deep intake and evaluation. With my training in osteopathic and family medicine, I plan to start with a thorough but focused history and musculoskeletal evaluation. At first I’d like to spend some time hearing your narrative, your story. This may be through speaking or showing me places that hurt on your body.
Then I will perform an osteopathic evaluation, which usually consists of watching you walk, sit, bend, and lying down. I may palpate (gently examine with my hands) areas of your body. I am gathering a ton of information at this point! Some explainable, some non-verbal and not yet materialized.
Finally, in the time we have left, I’ll lay you down on a table and treat you. Together, with some of my prompting and guiding of our conversation, we will begin to unravel some of the mysteries of where you are today. Then we will explore the most constructive way to unravel layers of strains and get to the primary areas that need the most love and focus.
This is when having a professional, experienced individual is so helpful, because not only can they stand witness to your depth without fear or judgment but they know how to help you harness your own intuition for how best to proceed. This is what it is to fully embody your wisdom!
